What We Do

Education, Empowerment & Environmental Action

Discover how PERHILAS turns discarded plastic into opportunity — for communities, for the environment, and for Sabah.

OUR FACILITY

Plastic Recycling & Upcycling Centre

Our Recycling and Upcycling Centre in Kampung Kepayan Baru, Sepanggar is equipped with a plastic shredder, plastic melting system with moulding tools, and dedicated storage. Here, discarded plastic bottles are transformed into tourism accessories, lifestyle products, and keepsakes inspired by Sabahan ethnic motifs.

COMMUNITY TRAINING

200+ Workshops Across Malaysia

PERHILAS trains women, housewives, youth, and waste pickers to create value-added products — from fridge magnets to earrings and brooches — that now reach international markets. Our 200+ workshops have empowered hundreds of participants to turn recycling into a reliable source of income.

CULTURAL HERITAGE

Sabahan Motifs, Reborn in Recycled Plastic

Each product features traditional Sabahan motifs such as Sinumandak (Murut), Binangkusangan, Tininbukan, and Nantuapan — motifs that carry the heritage and identity of Sabah's indigenous communities, reborn in recycled plastic. Art and sustainability, fused into every piece.

PERHILAS products have reached the Netherlands, Indonesia, New Zealand, and attracted buyers from Brunei. We partner internationally with Yago Eco Accessories (UK) and CBM Brothers (Uganda) for climate education, bridged by our MoU with Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).
